caju is a collection of one of a kind, upcycled pieces handmade in new york city. we use thrifted, recycled, and locally sourced materials, designing unique & distinctive garments that celebrate intentional consumption.
we want to redefine how we view fashion & consumption by reimagining limited resources and promoting sustainability. whether upcycling a garment, reclaiming leather, or reusing textiles, we aim to reduce and divert more waste from landfills that pollute our planet and its communities.
hayara established caju in 2024, inspired by her brasilian heritage, the vibrancy and ingenuity of immigrant communities, and the strength in resisting & creating with limited means. fashion shouldn't be disposable-- each piece has a story, celebrates resourcefulness, and redefines how we think about waste & consumption.
